You and I

With you by my side
The cool satin sheets
covering our warm, sweaty bodies
I think of a time
when you were not in my life
that time was unbearable
and then you came, and brightened my days
You put your arms around me
and give me a hug that seems to never end
when you finally let go
I move even closer to you
I lay my head on your bare chest
And whisper, "I love you"
you look at me and smile
and repeat those three same words that make my heart jump
My eyes get heavier
and my smile continues
and I'm drifting into thoughts
of you and I |
