I'm Everything because of him

He is a near relation
He's stood by her all through the years she's been alive
He knows her every move, her every glance
He's seen her through the best times and the worst, And never once has his love for her diminished.
He saw her born, and he'll see her married someday. Everytime she walks away from him, it's like a piece of his heart is shattered because his little girl is little no longer little.
She is herself. a young woman, finding herself in love with a man she has no right in loving.
She cries at night when she thinks about how soon she will be graduating, going to college, getting married and hopefully not ending up broken hearted.
she cries when she thinks about the things she has done this year, the things she wishes she could redo. She never ment to hurt him at all, but She breaks his heart and he dies a little when his Princess smiles at him with her almost grown face.
Even now, as she sits here typing this poem, she is crushed at the fact that everything here, is true.
She is in love, and no longer bears the resemblance of the little child she was only three years ago.
Her mind was slow to grow up, and she took a good look at herself in the mirror one night, it hit her. Her eyes traced the reflecting figure in horror, whispering in disbelief,"This is not me. This is not my body. When did I get to be this?" repeating it in horror as tears streamed down her face. She saw now what scared her own father, this womanly figure that frightened herself.
The man, who is he do you say? Even though you have probably guessed already, is my Father.
And the young woman, is Me. |
