needs

But you do that thing, you twist everything
To make it seem my entire fault.
Like I was the bad girlfriend
I wasn’t the one who cheated.
I never lied that was you.
I told you how I felt, and you used me.
Chucked me out onto the heap
With the others who thought
You cared about them.
But all you ever cared about, Was yourself
You let me go without, so you could have
I need to say sorry
To myself.
I go to say I love you
You nod your head and say how cute
Now give me some space.
I gave you my heart
You promised to keep it safe
I should have known you wouldn’t change
I was but a trophy on your arm
Something else to say you’ve had
I don’t have any feelings
I don’t get hurt
By your words or actions.
I need to say sorry I loved you
I go to say no to you
Fists fly at me.
I lay unable to move in fear of you
And what you could do next
Could end my life
You say you’re sorry
You say you love me
But all you love is this new trophy
You’ve found yourself.
Say sorry you might
But it wont work I know your ways.
You’ll do anything to keep this trophy
Shining on your arm.
I need to say no to you
I go to say goodbye
I’m leaving you for someone else
Someone who cares
Who nursed my feelings
Who showed me I was worth something
Who made the light shine
Once more in my eyes.
You sit there to drunk to take it in
You don’t see me now
But you never really did.
I need to say goodbye |
