Scarlet falls

It lies deep inside a hidden cave
Waiting for its time
To raise its ugly head.
Surprisingly my heart still beats
With only a song of pain
Beats out a tune reminding me
You’re not mine anymore.
Drips of scarlet misery
Are all that fall from my eyes
Every fall is a wish leaving my soul
Drips of love are long lost.
The scars you made on my heart
Rip open exposing
A blackened heart
Dead to all happy feelings
The marks that cover my body
Tear against your lies
Stitches burst free
Scarlet falls once more.
The pain has risen
It has left its mark upon my spirit.
Lies you said
Have consumed my being |
