» Poem: Unwanted Calls
Unwanted Calls
written by IceBound
09:49 PM 12/29/04
the anticipation, this wait
it's been 11 days since last we met
tomorrow is far away
the hours seem to form into days
days with out you
unbearable, my heart
it aches in this emptiness
and yes, like every other time
this time, is short scheduled
only 5 and a half hours with you
seemingly long, until I must go
and only then does
5 1/2 hours sound more like
5 1/2 minutes... then comes the wait
after I leave, another 5 days
till next we meet
and in between, what's to come:
late night calls, unwanted
the long awaited sound of your voice
on the other end...
I bear your verbal cruelty because I must
because I think I know what you won't tell me...
