Little girl
written by lost_cause04:01 AM 12/30/04I was thinking about life when I saw a crying little girl
I asked her what was wrong and she said,"I hate this world!"
She was so young and innocent, the sweetest little thing
Already giving up hope of better things that life could bring
As I reached out to hug her, she gasped and pulled away
There was such fear in her eyes I didn't know what to say
Then I saw the bruises that her dad had left on her
How could any human being want to see her hurt?
"I want to help you." I said to her, tears running down my cheeks
"It was my fault, I swear it was! Daddy told me not to peek!"
Curious I asked her "Peek in and see what?"
"The thing that daddy did to her! Him calling her a slut!"
"The thing that your dad did to who?" I waited for a reply
As I watched her hug her bear and tried to dry her eyes
"Sissy was a bad girl so Daddy gave her what she wanted.
Daddy said that he was mad at her because of what she flaunted."
As the pieces came together in my mind I saw the thing
That was making this poor girl so scared with tears trickling
I concentrated on her face, I knew she looked familiar
This girl was me when I was young... I was looking in the mirror... |
