» Poem: Go Free, Midnight Moonstar
Go Free, Midnight Moonstar
written by Norway_babe

Twenty-six years ago, you came to me,
All legs, fawn eyes, and beaver tail,
And it was then, I fell in love.

I soaked your neck with my childish tears,
I clung to your strenght with my secret fears.

We jumped the too high fence, with only heart,
We ran poles, and pulled the cart.
With never a lack of blue ribbons to set you apart-
From those other horses, who didn't have a heart.

You carried me many a long mile,
You gave my secret soul, its smile.
I had only to call your name;
And mane and tail blowing, you always came.

Horse Heaven awaits you, my old friend,
I will finally set you free.
To run proudly in the seas of grass.
The stars of heaven, your looking glass.

You will live on, in my heart, unscarred,
Go Free- Midnight Moonstar
