Someone Elses Skin

Ugly bruises on my arms to prove Im a victim
Im at war with this guy and I know he will win
I cant do anything at all im too hurt to tell on him
He’s sleeping on the couch
So I go to the kitchen as quietly as I can
Quickly eating in fear that he’ll wake up
Im so afraid of this man
Then all of a sudden he’s awake
He tries to start a fight
Yelling in my face and shoving me
I can never do anything right
Low self esteem
No happy dreams
Living in fear
Wishing I wasn’t here
Grab me,twist my arm,slap me,its ok I self harm,abuse me,yell at me,hit me,I deserve this misery
Someone who was supposed to love me
Turned out to be like everybody else
They all just wanted to hurt me
They think its ok because I hurt myself
Pictures tacked upon my moldy wall
Of people who made me cry
Someday I’ll get back at them
For making me want to die
But theres no pictures of him
I see his angry face enough
Sometimes he is ok
But other times he’s rough
I wish I could wake up
In unscarred skin
With no bruises on my arm
I wish I wasn’t a victim
Ive got no idea why he’s mad at me
I didn’t do anything to him
Yet he’s taking his anger out on me
I know he’s gonna win
When he shoves me into the bathroom
And throws me against the wall
When he tells me im a failure,im nothing
When he grabs me and I realize im the biggest fool of all
Everything that’s happened
I need to put the past behind
But it haunts me in me dreams
I cant get it off my mind
Just let me wake up
In brand new,comfy skin
I want to have brand new arms
I want to know if I’ll win
I want to shed my skin like a snake
And take off my mask and prove the smile is fake
I just want to be able to believe something real
I want to focus on something other than how I feel
Someone else’s skin
Anyone but a victim
All these scars and bruises keep reminding me
Of that awful man and my misery |
