» Poem: Storybook Lie
Storybook Lie
written by twistedmind33

Looking back at past memories
Recalling conversations we had
I realize how much I admire you
You’re not like the rest
You care
You want to see my smile
And make sure I’m okay
I can’t believe it took me so long for the realization
Right now I just want to talk to you
But somehow it’s not possible
You won’t respond
And I’ve almost given up
You were my diamond in the ruff
The only true face in this sea of lies
And now I’m afraid I let you go
I didn’t mean to
And I didn’t realize what I had
But now it’s gone
And it seems too much like a storybook lie
