» Poem: An Imperfect Sonnet
An Imperfect Sonnet
written by soimpossible1339
12:22 AM 1/7/05
I feel on my back, your icy, dark stare
And I snap my eyes shut, hiding deep within
Knowing this one thing I just cannot bear
But still I turn 'round and let it begin

Looking into your eyes, cold as can be
Hate shoots through my spine, you were my best friend
Now all you can do is ridicule me
I know that our time has come to the end

So as these few last words spill from my heart
The pain of betrayal shines brightly through
I know how you lied, it tore us apart
But why did you think we could start anew

You did it yourself; our friendship hath die
Now I bid you farewell, goodbye, goodbye
