Sold My Soul
written by chaoticthoughts01:11 AM 1/8/05One night as I lay and slumber
A figure pierced through the darkness and began to stutter.
"What 3 things would you want in your life?
I can change anything that you don't like."
As I lay in my bed consumed with fright
I began to ask, with all of my might,
"Could you change my appearance seen by others?"
He asked for more depth, so I continued to described, how I wanted to be seen in my long life.
"I would like to glisten with the snow flakes that stumble to the ground, shine like sun through bright white clouds, be striking as the autumn leaves crack, gleam like the raindrops when the spring showers splat."
He said to me "All this will be done, would you like anything else? Now think real hard, would you like anything with love? Perhaps your broken heart?"
I looked up at that dark shadow, began to say "Can you make so my heart never feels a hurtful day?"
He smilied so schemingly while a snap of a finger, my heart no longer began to whimper.
He raised his hand, put up one finger, reminding me that I had one more left to linger.
He asked "Do want to ask now? Or save it for later? But I must warn you, there may not be a later."
So with that said my decision was made. I asked for one more thing, as he said "Quickly now, I'm beginning to fade."
I said clearly and loud, "I wish to be wealthly, with plenty of money to spare. I wish to get everything I ever wanted, without a care."
As with this last desire he revealed himself to me. I couldn't believe what I have seen.
I was the devil himself, from the fiery pits of hell. Granted my every wish and desire, I can't believe I didn't feel the fire.
He said to me with a pleased tone "Beth, you have wished for everything you could possibly want. Now here's the tricky part, you must give me what I desire."
I looked in disbelief, wondering is this a dream. But sadly no, it was truely reality.
He reminded me for all my gifts, I must give him my soul, basically my whole existence.
So here I am, the deed was signed. The devil now owns me. My soul no longer can I call mine. |
