Your Sonnet

no clue, even when you spoke
what exactly you were getting at
i was unsure till now
i know in my heart that you're sorry
that you never want me to hurt
i guess im too caught up in other people's feelings
i've forgotten my own...
i still have my mind set on your trust
without it, where are we going?
i think i've had it all along
i was just to blind to see it till now
you want to spend your life
from now till then, 6 kids, my wife?
you took the words right out
i couldn't have put it better!
i felt like shit when i read
your sonnet, you feelings you've spread
up to now, i thought you wanted to leave...
was i wrong?
im as certain as today
try walking through the rain
without getting hit, impossible
getting to you, seemingly improbable
but i can still dream, right?
is it not what we do now?
we're still drifting between
Dream and Reality, i've seen
what WE want, what's clear
another turn, another path
this fork in the road we must pass
but please, i appreciate the concern
i love it that you care, but learn
that i'm immune to the pain
heart-broken, there is truly only room heal
i never regret taking that step
i hold your hand, you hold mine
again, i'm so sure of it now
we can do this, let's walk with time
do not hate it, embrace it
we will get what little we can get
granted it will come, all im asking
wait for me, i know my trust is home
in your heart, i'm making my way back home
i would never dream of hurting you
i trust you won't hurt me
just believe this will end, all in due time
this will soon be over
