New Path

twisted then torn in two
my bitter half in supremacy
i live the chase
to understand this new existence
this way of life, the way of truth
it's not so bad after all
but what is it i'm chasing?
Love? Truth? Reality?
Dreams beat down my soul
I know what i want, Dream
Pain will never end, Reality
this form of the story in itself
seems none less of a soap opera
the seemingly endless drama
driven insane by endless choices
free will chances, fatalistic signs
do i see them so?
My self-declaration has long since past
defy for which i believe
walk the path of least resistance
more than half the man i used to be
was i ever?
The overrated label of being
i was never man enough to just let the past go
never man enough to take off the mask
i've let it all fall
i've droned in the sea of deceit
my body will never reach the shore of her heart
or anyone's for that matter
"Living, Loving, Lying not!"
the lyrical dance of words 'round my head
sulking in blood yet dry
it is time to abnegate laws from which i abide
detest my life, disengage the mind
'free your ass and your mind will follow!'
the humorous formality of wise men
i've come to realize
hateful thoughts that idealize
and state emotion other than fact
strong will to move on, that i lack
lost my thoughts, found in strength
'Good words mean nothing
if they do not amount to anything' |
