» Poem: How Things Could Have Been
How Things Could Have Been
written by Lothiriel
10:58 PM 1/11/05
Like a heartsick child
I cry my tears and learn what hurt is
Like a love - struck dummy
I'd set before you and plead
And this person so unlike me
I stand by watching myself bleed

Wanting to show my emotions to you
Then wanting you to show me, too
I'd think I just wouldn't be right without you
I know the fiery light has died
But I'd take it all back and pray you just lied

I'd hold onto your hand and tell you a tale
Of how things could have been
and how things could have changed
And I'd sit all alone in the dark
being as one in body and soul
Knowing that things are so right
Yet hiding what is bound to be wrong

Still needing you all along
