» Poem: Checkmate
Checkmate
written by twistedmind33

You’re screaming and yelling
You tell me they aren’t good enough for me
How could you?
These are my friends
They keep me sane
And they love me
I don’t care what you say about their looks
If anyone’s not good enough
It’s me
These people are beautiful
The have power
And they know who they are
If only I could be like them…
But
NO!
You won’t allow it
I’m not your property
You need to accept I can think too
You’ve always trusted my decisions before
So why don’t you trust them now?
When the odds are against you
And I’ve just called checkmate.
