» Poem: And Yet . . . Inside I Die
And Yet . . . Inside I Die
written by CrzyAnml6666
06:20 AM 1/24/05
I see the stars sparkling so bright,
Within the moon kissed sky.
I hear the lark so sweetly sing,
Amidst the morning dawn.
I smell the flower full in bloom,
And see their royal pomp.

And yet some place so deep within,
I'm shrouded and I'm closed.
The brilliance there I can't see,
In mists of misery.
Enshrined inside, unable thus,
To touch the warmth without.

Wandering in darkness grope,
Finding not a glimpse of hope.
Fingers touch to find my way,
Each foot fall, my heart betrays
The fear which drives me through the day.

Yet I face the world with a smile,
No one knows what is hid inside.
They see only happiness,
They cant see the tears I've cried.
When I am alone I hurt,
Because here I do it well.

In front of all the watchful eyes
My heaven turns to hell.
The judge and jury awaits me,
Everyone has a say.
In a life that hangs suspended
For yet another day.

Who are they to judge if
What I have done is right or wrong?
In the end I gave her up,
But inside still I sing her song.
I don't know how to find
The strength I thought I had.

If only I could play tough
It wouldn't be so bad.
They say that life goes on
And someday I'll smile again.
But, how do they know my pain
Without being where I've been?

I've traveled so far from home,
And can't find my way back.
Somewhere along the way
I must have jumped the track.
I saw her just today
And her smile is still the same.

She looked at me so sweetly,
But never spoke my name.
I wonder if she remembers me,
It hasn't been that long.
She may have forgotten me,
But I still sing her song.

Suddenly the ground is lost,
Flailing arms as body's tossed.
Splashing down in crimson pool,
The warm embrace is much too cruel,
I am a curse, this lowly, wretched fool.

Floundering in this self made hell,
Warmth increasing as I dwell,
Within the confines I create,
Screaming as myself berate,
Giving in to this, my fate.

I gaze upon this passion spent,
And yet . . . Inside I die,
For without her life is gone.

Absolutely breath taking. I am a victim unto the same scenario. Of an even worse wrongness I haven't looked upon her for... it seems since the beginning of time...
