I stand the watch,
Needles and pins.
Plead penance for my gothic sins.
Oblivious, I pace the ledge.
With wings of steel,
I give my pledge.
To fly or fall,
You call my bluff.
I offer blood, is it enough.
The banner raised, I stand in fame
To love you is my cause and
Announced your name.
I stare in rancid retrospect,
Void of emotion whims reflect.
Tipping the cup, sipping sadness,
Dripping melancholy madness.
I spread my wings for far flung skies.
The angel sings, I close my eyes.
A weighted soul sprung from the slope
In dying dreams gives birth to hope.
I look at you,
Laying in your bed,sleeping.
Contentment fills my heart
As I see your serenity.
You look so peaceful,
Slowly, I motion toward you,
With every step needing
You more and more.
I crawl in behind you
And softly I put my hand at your side.
Gently, I kiss your cheek,
Then rub my lips down along
The side of your neck,
Back and fourth,
I put my arms around you
As you turn into me.
I look at you,still so calm,
So tranquil.
I kiss your forehead softly,
Then your cheek.
Finally I awaken you,
Kissing your tender lips.
I raise my hand
Caress your face,
Beginning at your forehead
Ending at your chin.
Once again I kiss you,
Wrapping my arms around you,
Lifting you with me as I slowly sit up.
Calmly, I gather your hair behind you,
Rubbing my cheek against yours,
Kissing your neck once again.
The vision caught within my mind,
The thought of our loving bind.
For all that rehearsed majesty
Now only gleams of travesty.
As I've felt your hunger, your fire.
Ached in your pain, passion, desire.
I look into your eyes,
The love I feel inside is reflected back at me.
Gently, I embrace you,
Holding you close to my heart.
Softly, I bring your head to mine,
Faintly whispering
The only words that come to mind,
Will you be mine till the end of time.
