I Prisoner No. 786

I prisoner no. 786 look out from the prison bars,
The days, months, years change in to a century.
This soil smells the fragrance of my father’s fields,
This summer reminds me my pot of cold buttermilk.
This rain accompanies the swing rides of my autumn,
This winter cools the fire of my Halloween.
They say this is not my country,
Then when does it feel like my country.
They say I am not like her,
Then why does she feel to be like me.
I prisoner no. 786 look out from the prison bars,
I see a little angel coming down from the village of dreams.
Calls herself Saamiya and calls me Francis,
Is outright different but argues with her folk.
Her true words make me feel to live again,
Her promises make me feel to do something.
They say that she is not anyone of mine,
Then why does she fight the world for my sake.
They say I am not like her,
But why do I feel to be like her.
I prisoner no. 786 look out from the prison bars,
I see a new Natasha embraced in the colors of my village.
She’s forgotten her dreams in fulfilling mine,
She’s left back her people for being with mine.
I feel like filling her lap with happiness now,
I feel like living one more life for her now.
They say my country is not her country then why does she live in my home,
They say I am not like her then why does she feel to be like me.
