A Million Miles Behind Me

I betcha don't
I bet you barely know my name
But you'll remember I exist
What a dumb excuse
I'm not gonna take that crap from you
I might have before
But now, give me one good reason to trust you
Something else you can't do, right?
You're a worthless inferior to me
You used to make me smile, make me laugh
Then suddenly, you made me want to die
Is this something you're proud of?
I hope not
I'd get more pleasure from the situation
If you felt like shit for what you did to me
You were never really there
Even though you said you'd be forever
Always by my side
Yeah right! You were just there to lie
You knew I'd believe you
You knew I had talent
You know I'll go far without you
And you'll come crawling back
Why would you do that?
Why would you throw me away
and act like I was nothing
Not even there
It's the long run that counts, right?
I'll run forever in the right direction
Doing everything I was destined to do
While you sit out a million miles away
You never really wanted what you said you did
All you wanted was to feel like you had a purpose
It used to be being with me
Now it's feeling like shit because you're not
So what do you get out of this?
Some time to breathe? A day alone?
What about the next day? You'll be lonely
You'll wish I was there and I'll just laugh
You could have had me in your arms
You could have had me by your side
Look what you did to me now
I fell apart at first but now I'm happier
I just wanna say thank you
For being such a dick to me
Because now I'll live my life to the fullest
And you'll regret all the crap you did
You said you just wanted to be friends
After you speant half a year with me
Once you see things from my perspective
You'll know what you did was wrong
I bet you do
I hope you do
Now you'll have visions of my crying, my hurt
And visions of my laughter and my happiness
Won't they be equally as painful to you now?
You know you made me feel like dirt
And I still turned out better than you
I always was better than you
Someday you'll realize you needed me
More than I ever needed you or ever will
And someday you'll get up to run after me
And realize you can't
One action, one word
It can ruin as much as an atom bomb
How would you know?
You've started your own nuclear war
I hope some day you'll be able to get up
And try to catch up with me but I'll be so far ahead
I'll have already persued my dreams
And I won't care what happened to you
Would you care if I hurt you?
Would you care if I lied?
Would you care if I smiled?
Would you care if I died?
Of cource you would
You'll be falling apart your whole life
Now who's doing what they think is right?
Sucks for you, hmm?
So here I am. I took a break but now I'm up again
Not once glancing back at you
I just continue running to where I wanna be
Ignoring you calling my name
So now I bid you goodbye my friend
The guy I used to love
What's left of us now?
Just memories that slowly fade away |
