» Poem: Note To Self
Note To Self

This is my note- to- self,
As my sould hangs, lingering on a shelf.
People pass by and don't care to look,
Because all they see are toys and unreadable books.
Candy clouds and sweet dreams
Are what I starve for, or for what they seem.
And so what I right down in blood red ink,
Is exactly what I think.
No one cares to take a glance,
No one cares to take a chance.
And so here we are, all alone,
And here we are, with no home.
I wish a child would pick me up and take me,
Because I'm lying here like a shell in the sea.
I sit here, dusty all year long,
Dying for someone to sing me a song.
We are only behind a glass window,
Well, that's what people think.
What would happen, if the window would break?
Would the passerbys care,
Would they share?
Would even notice we are standing there?
I'll make them notice the pain in my eyes,
I'll make them notice by the tears that I cry.
So this is my note to self,
As I lay here hanging on the shelf.
