Am I the Only Sinner?

that what you see
isn't what's actually there.
It's not right
that there's no one there
when you can't sleep at night.
And it's not just,
you can want something you can't have.
Lust.
Am I the only sinner?
Am I alone with my passion?
Didn't loving some one you can't have,
used to be in fashion?
Am I the only one with tears in my eyes?
Am I kidding myself?
Are these feelings all lies?
Am I wasting my time,
with every tear that I cry?
It's not just,
that I have no one
that I can trust.
It's not right,
that all I ever do
is shield myself from the light.
And it's not fair,
that though I can see you and hear you,
you aren't really there. |
