Crushing Stars
written by elfish8808:20 PM 1/31/05| I see stars in the clouded nights sky- the dark, rainless, congested heavens. Strange how we think of the things we cannot have, the things that will hurt us most- such a sick self fulfilling prophesy. But now I am thinking of things that I can have only in my mind, things that are intangible and ceasing; valleys and grooves of darkness and light, water falling upon chilled skin, bathed in black and night. It is all within this inner eye, as well as some deep soul-like faceted core. Shriveling under its consumption, I feel the power of an overwhelming crushing force, pressured freeze in my skull. The feeling of this dark city chasm, this urbanized abyss of cold shadows, leaving an actual contenting mood, filling my lungs and arching my spine in satisfaction- I fucking love the awesome emptiness. Grim inner streets, dirty gutters and garbage composts, a warm lifelike light within unfeeling mirrored giants- all against a black teary sky. Sleeping under it all, huddled in the heat of rags and wet concrete. These things that are intangible and ceasing- valleys and grooves of darkness and light, water falling upon chilled skin, bathed in black and night- flow through me as if the fluid of my vitality. I am child of it all, this incredible breathing city, a comatose monster. |
