Forget Me

you made me feel things which made us become close
my heartbeat does race at the feel of you near
and then fades away when you cannot be here
you took my heart and treated it like gold
your arms around me, i await to hold
far distances will always keep us apart
but you are forever close in my heart
situations make it impossible to ever have your life with me
searching for the right words to say
just to keep you from not loving me
i know that i have hurt you
you are right about that
the thought of someone getting closer to you
makes me want to hold back
and me pushing you away
is my anger inside
can't bear to lose such a wonderful guy
yet now i must set you free
so all you will have are memories of me
forget my name
forget my smile
forget a love that we couldn't hold
time will heal the pain for you
and soon the memories will be gone
my name will fade inside your mind
my smile has long gone
for now i must turn around
and say goodbye to you
the love i felt because of you
is forever and always true |
