» Poem: I Remember You
I Remember You
written by Dhirsti
12:39 PM 2/1/05
I see a face in the crowd
It's unforgettable
I think to myself ' I know you how could I not?'
I remember the times we shared together
We did everything together
Always together
And yet as we smile and say hello
You are but a stranger to me
I don't really know you, I never have
All the things we said, what do they mean?
Nothing
Just words and only words
Nothing yet everything
Meaningless letters put together
So much emptiness yet also blooming with life
Overflowing with love and friendship
Is it possible to love and care for someone so much it hurts
Yet despise them with a passion?
I do not know why
But that is how I have always felt inside
Deep inside
All theses things racing through my mind as I smile
Do you know what I'm thinking?
Are you thinking the same?
Should I tell you?
I feel the need to; But I can't
And I won't
Because we are saying goodbye
As you walk away I watch you and wonder
I wonder why in my moments of need you were never really there for me
Not when I really truly needed you most
But in some small way I know why
Because you never really know someone
And you will never know me
Nobody will
I won't let them
Noone will ever know anyone
Because everyone puts masks on
Don't they?
