» Poem: Blade from my Chest
Blade from my Chest
written by whatShouldUsBe
02:26 AM 2/2/05
As I take one final breath
and draw the blade up to my chest
finally I welcome death
sweet giver of eternal rest
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray for death
my soul to reap
as I take one final breath
Blood drips down the front of me
and I begin to fall
red is all I see
as I hear death beckon and call
Now that I am letting go
and I am not afraid
for all that I know
all my debts are paid
I know I don't owe you
and you DON'T own me
I don't know what to do
that will help you to see
because as I take my final breath
and slip into eternal rest
I see something strange, its Death
here to take the blade from my chest...
