Letting You Leave

And my love towards you is really true,
But you love another, and I watch you kiss her everyday,
And it pains me to see that, so I always turn away.
I wish I could have you in my arms,
I wish I could protect you from any harm,
And I wish I could hold you within my heart,
But you wouldn't like it, so we'd have to stay apart.
But you don't know, you don't have a clue,
That everything I wish is a wish for you.
And when I see you laugh and have fun with her,
I look down and think that she is the luckiest girl in the world.
And I wish you were mine,
I wish you could be my special Valentine,
But you have another,
And my feelings I have to smother
Before they reach up like fire and get out of hand,
And spread across the love land.
But one day I realised that if I wanted you to be truly happy, and me too,
No matter how much I greived,
No matter how much I don't want to beleive,
I've got to learn to let you leave.
So here I go,
I'm letting you out,
And I can feel you be relieved.
But that makes me happy;
seeing you happy that I had to let you leave. |
