» Poem: A sonnet for the Loved
A sonnet for the Loved
written by youthoughtyouknewme
10:33 PM 2/2/05
The sun did close behind the hill
The clouds they turned a shade of pink
Rivers rage and then are still
The stars above begin to wink

A gasp of wind disturbs the leaves
The evening starts and you appear
Your scent is carried by the breeze
It sweeps away my little tear

Our love eternal it will be
Like the sun will never fade
Though the war takes you from me
Our good-byes we will not bid

For as the sun brings on the day
They cannot take you far away.
