» Poem: This Mind a Prison
This Mind a Prison
written by Panic
10:28 AM 2/3/05
The person that the world beholds
Is nothing more than a reflection
Of who I really am
A parody, a mimic of life

Every now and then
Something of my true self slips through
To the surface
A ripple on the water
A crack in my reflection

I'm afraid to reveal myself to you
I'm afraid you won't like what you see
Please forgive my foolish insecurities

I just don't have the courage
To take off my mask
I can't help myself
I feel the need to conceal who I am

I'm afraid of myself
Why wouldn't you be?
I'm so afraid
