» Poem: My love, now departed |
My love, now departed
written by Death Tone12:57 PM 2/4/05As I sit here by your side watching you clinging on to the last piece of life you have left.
I take your hand firmly in to my grasp and tell you for possibly the last time that I love you.
As I lean over and give you the last kiss I shall ever give you.
I can almost see a smile in your eyes.
We have been there for each other through out the toughest times.
And now fate has given us one last crushing blow.
But at least we will go through it together.
I will never leave your side.
As your breathing slows I know that the end is near.
Now squeezing your hand tighter than ever before, I tell you I love you and to let go.
No sooner do I say it the breathing stops.
I struggle to hold back the tears for my dearly departed.
But knowing that you are watching over me, feels my heart with a warmth like no other.
I sit in silence for what seems like hours, reminiscing over the times we shared.
I say my final prayer, then whisper in your ear that I love you, and that we will be together soon.
You are my everything and I love you, I will see you soon. |
