Hidden Meaning

And couldn’t believe
You weren’t ever coming back
You dropped right out of my life
And expected me to erase you
From my memory and my mind
But you’d never be gone from my heart
The only thing that’s real
You didn’t think you were special
You didn’t think you were enough
You were you
And that’s all that mattered to me
You should have never listened
You should have never given in
If only you would have known what I’d do…
What’s this?
I’m handed another note
By HER
I can’t believe you loved her more
Wait!
It’s addressed to me
There must have been a terrible mistake
Or was it fate?
Did you want her to know
Instead of keeping it between us
I read the notes again
One says you’ll never forget
This was for the best
While the other says three simple words
Jam packed with meaning
I guess you thought I would only understand
The note lies on my floor
Where I first dropped it
You greet me with a warm embrace
And I tell you
I’m here, love |
