» Poem: Regret
Regret
written by XsouredXfaithX
02:55 AM 2/6/05
She sits by the phone
waiting for word from him that he had made it home
an hour has passed and she is starting to worry
she needs him to call her and in a hurry
when she passes out and wakes up the next day
she sees he hasnt called or tried to reach her in any way
so she decides to call him instead
and gets word from his mother that he is dead
the tears start to form in her eyes
and she is the only one who knows why
so she decides to go to his house to let it all out
knowing that his parents will probably scream and shout
she gets over there and tells about the night before
the night that will haunt her forever more
she starts telling them how she knew he had to much to drink
but so had she so she couldnt really think
he went to leave and she had yell from afar
"call me when your home so that ill know how you are"
but she waited the night through and he never did
she feared that he was dead
she knew she shouldn't suspect the worst
but those were the thoughts that came first
and now these fears had been made real
sadness was all she could feel
she saw tears in his familys eyes
and at that moment she had started to cry
she knew it was her fault he was not alive
but you will always have regret when you let loved ones drink and drive.
