» Poem: Starving
Starving
written by piperneedshelp
05:02 AM 2/6/05
it all started so simple
i just wanted to lose a few pounds
a few less callories here,
and a little more excersize there
but soon it ran my life
i was going insane, starving myself
running, like i was trying to get away from something
and that something was myself
i was apauled by my sight
i was huge, no matter how much weight i lost
i would shy away from any callorie
the less i ate, the better i felt
it was a challenge
to see how little i could eat
but soon that challenge was a struggle
other people began to notice
they would tell me, "you look skinny!" at first
now they say, "you look SKINNY!!!" and tell me to stop
and eat something, but secretly i hate them
they dont want me to reach my goal
that goal to be skinny, because i didnt feel i was
oh, but i was!
i was so skinny, too skinny
but no matter how hard i tried, i couldnt eat anything
i was still thinking i was fat
and that was that
there wasnt anything i could do, alone
but with the help of my friends,
a lot of help,
i began to see a change
and a LOT later i got better
much better
but the temptation is always there
to still see how long i can go without food
but i know how much it hurt my family

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
anorexia is nothing to joke around with, i still have effects, and as of now i'm going into a relapse....its so hard to not though....i cant eat anything without needing to know how many callories are in it, and how much i'm going to gain afterwords. dont become anorexic, at all costs. as long as you think you are beautiful, thats all that matters, the only reason someone would hate u is if they want to become just like you. i know i should practice what i preach, but its really hard. and i'm trying.
