» Poem: S.S. Promise
S.S. Promise
written by First2Last
05:55 AM 2/6/05
back and fourth
for the past three years
im sick of drowning
in both of our tears.
sinking in sand
oil filled water
what happened to the good times
the sex and the laughter?
your body was the tide
there to wash me up
and now its drug me down
leaving nothing but cuts
the s.s. promise
didnt promise much
i rode on this boat
searching for love
sailing acrossed the pacific
for almost way too long
patching up the wholes
keeping us strong
the skies are getting cloudy
storm's a brewing today
rains flooding the deck
there to wash us away
we hid from the storm
no one was steering the ship
no one took down the sails
this strong storm had hit
we knew the outcome of the weather
but didnt pull into the dock
people said we were crazy
yet wished us good luck
the water pushed on the sides
pressure pounding the ship
the boat cracked in half
we knew this was it
with i on the bow
you on the stern
we let go of each other
with no other conerns
a wave washed you away
you were no longer in sight
you left me behind
without even yelling goodbye.
