» Poem: the man stood tall
the man stood tall
written by harajukugrl

The man stood tall,
His back against the wind
The tough withered skin on his face gave him a wise appearance,
The face of an educated man,
But his eyes were like those of a baby seal
Wide, and alert
He slowly ascended the cold gray stairs before him
Each step strong and sure
A shadow crept across his face hiding his emotions
As he glanced quickly over his shoulder
He pulled his coat closer around his body
As if locking out the wind’s icy fingers
But really he wasn’t thinking of the cold but of his own being
He is hoping that no one will see
Through his thick coat and sullen face
The pain ripping at his soul
