Darkness Within

Penetrating me like electric light
Others may be filled with fright
Not me because I have the sight
I see amazing things
Like dragons, unicorns, and fairie wings
Horrible images escape my mind
From past to present these times unwind
The shadows continue to press
Even though my fright becomes less
Seeing love from a mile away
Could save someone from a rainy day
But why should I say something at all
When they never did anything except make me fall
They don't deserve what I see
Or is it that I hate me?
Shadows lurking over my head
Scars won't appear when you're dead
Outside in moonlight I saw stars dance
Never seeing this part i didn't stand a chance
I wasn't ready for what came next
Is this some kind of hex?
My heart pounded out of my chest
Was this the beginning of my test?
Hoping so I close my eyes
Shadows appear when more angels die
The sight impacts me like a bullet
Finally I can see what I need
One more step and I'll be free
To give up this curse of how I can see
Shadows will no longer haunt my dreams
And the sight will no longer cause me to scream |
