Mirror Image
written by Lady Deathstrike07:40 PM 2/10/05I gaze at her and she looks back
she gives a hint of a smile
and then her face crumbles
tears I never shed
blood I never bled
I watch in horrific wonder
as the girl I used to know cries out
She reaches toward me
and her mouth moves
I hear no voice
but I know what she's saying
She wants to come back
I want her to
Could that really be me,
falling apart
all alone
I want to hold her one last time
I want to hold on to the memories
Memories being swept away
By an unforgiving current of hatred
I reach towards her, our hands nearly touch
I long to speak to her one last time
tears of blood water the earth
as castaway dreams wash ashore
Where went the girl I used to know? |

i wrote one like this before. it's funny how you feel the need to get back a part of yourself, you know subconciously you'd be better off without. i can relate. nice poem. |
