Just for you mom

self-hate urges me to wield this knife
the knife that cuts me deep
and suffers me dreamless sleep
I tell you this because I want you to know
what these self-inflicted wounds have to show
wounds tell a story no matter how small
they tell of glory, defeat, and downfall
well mine tell of the past
the past to which my mind holds fast
each scar tells how many times he came to my room
they tell of all the years I suffered in the gloom
they show how many hits I had to take
to shape me into the depressed and confused person you see today
they tell of all the times you yelled at me
one cut for each time I didnt want to be
well mom, this wound is just for you
for all the shit you've put me through
years and years of yelling and violence
watch me now as I cut into silence
are you proud of me now mom? finally did something right
I ended my pain this very night
I told you once that I was sad
you didnt believe me, you said it wasnt that bad
you didnt care about my death vow
well mom, do you believe me now? |
