IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOURS

I can't fall asleep
It's been like this for quite some time
Every night I weep
Crying for my life back
Begging for my joy
I was a human being
But now I'm just your toy
You pushed and prodded
And took what wasn't yours
You acted like you didn't hear me
And pinned me to the floor
I thought I was loved
But I just became scared
Trying to convince myself
That you really cared
I never thought that I
Could know such hate
Now I can't escape the nightmares
That you helped create
You weren't supposed to be this way
A person that I trust
But you were just being selfish
Filled with violence and lust
Now my life is on hold
I am no longer pure
The tears that I've been crying
Should have been yours
You tore my heart to pieces
And took away my soul
The pain that's overwhelmed me
Should have been yours |
