You Say Perfection(can you relate?)

you want nothing but
i know i can never give it to you
so i sit in my room and cut
you found out once
the pain was so much to bear
i tried to explain why
but you didnt care
because of you
after so long
ive started again
doing what you think is wrong
the scars show the pain
that you give to me
how i can never be perfect
and how you wont let me be
you thought it was
just because
you didnt listen when i tried to explain
you just screamed with shame
your mad i cant be what you want
and that i am different from the rest
you think it is wrong
for me to not be the best
im sorry im not what you thought
just accept me for who i am
thigs would be so much easier for me
just try and accept me if you can
you say perfection
and scream when im not
i say this one..im sorry

| I can relate to this, too much so. It gets hard when people lean on you, then tell you to stand up tall. The harsh truth is, everyone has expectations. Some go uknown, and some are blown up to extreme proportions. Some people will take to abuse, just because you're not what they wanted you to be. |

| Like my friend told me (and it was a guy.. so it must be something good).. He was like, "Everyone has dislikes about themselves, and everyone has dislikes about another person. What you have to understand is if someone is as true as they say, they will like you for who you are. If they dont, they arent worth your time." If they expect so much out of you, screw them! Be who you are, and people will be drawn to that. No one likes someone who acts like someone they arent. |

| hey its lindsey..i loved this poem and i can relate.no one should cry over someone who wont cry over them..i dont think many ppl would have written about this topic even though it is important and screwing up ppl's lives while they try to change.. |
