Valentine's Day(take a good look around)

Of all of this Valentine's Day chaos
Where not one thing matters
Except love and friendship
Not everyone has both
But they still manage to smile through it
And come out of the day alive
I have both and I know that I'm lucky
But I stand here in the middle
Of this Valentine's Day Chaos
And I take a good look around
I realize that not everyone has it all
Although it may look like it
The most popular person
Could be sending flowers to themselves
And the most unnoticeable person
Could get dozens of roses
Because on Valentine's Day
This made-up day created by Hallmark(r)
Everyone is loved
Whether it's by one person or many people
Everyone is loved on Valentine's Day
No matter how he treats you
No matter what she says
He loves you and she cares for you
And you should never forget that
You can rebel from your parents
Or take advantage of your friends
You can beat your girlfriend
Or use your boyfriend
And although they might know what you're doing
They still love you
Not because they are pathetic
Not because they are stupid
But because love makes no sense
And they do love you
Your parents can hit you occasionally
Your teachers can boss you around
Your sister can bully you
And your brothers can annoy the hell out of you
But they love you
So on this day they call Valentine's Day
Where nothing else matters
Take a good look around and realize
That you are loved and cared for
And you matter to someone. |
