Stripped of Beauty
written by Poison Ivy

What is beautiful of this soul I see? Brown eyes staring at the world with wrath, or is she scowling at me? What is beautiful about a black heart? About not having one at all. I see a poisoned soul through your eyes. Through this glass. You blind yourself from seeing anything beyond your pain. Death is the only thing you focus on. It’s the only thing you allow yourself to see. A world of black fires and dimmed lights is all you allow yourself to endure in. What is so beautiful about death?

I see a young and pale face. A girl being smothered by her detest. By her inner demons. And she smiles wickedly in the daze that she is in. Unable. . .unwilling to see how beautiful she could be. But she hides behind her fear and spits venom at anyone who tries to see her as anything but torment and edged. What is beautiful about dying? What is so blooding beautiful about your poisoned soul?! Your heart is dead. I know because I don’t hear is screaming in pain any longer. I just hear the corrupting sound of silence.

Is this what you wanted?! To be stripped of beauty?! What’s so wrong with seeing you as something special?! Now I see why. Because you’re not worth trying to understand. You’re too busy trying to be alone and apart from everyone to give anyone a chance. It’s a crime for you to love. And to be honest, I’m tired of looking at your sick and mutilated face! Then suddenly. . .the glass I see you through, I begins to break. And I just watch the shards of glass fall onto this thirsty earth. I look down at the shards of glass, and I realize it was a mirror I was hating you through. Staring into. Screaming at. So. . .what is beautiful about me, when I am stripped.
