For So Long

That I could be anybody but me;
For so long I have imagined
That somebody could set me free.
All I wish was for that to come true,
And it could lead me back to you,
But I know that I can only be me;
I can only see the things that I see.
It may not be good for you,
But you never thought of the things that I do.
And it hurts inside to feel so empty,
Knowing that something in my life is missing;
For so long I have dreamed
That I could be anybody but me.
For so long I have imagined
That I didn't feel so empty. |
