» Poem: To My Sister
To My Sister
written by ieatsmellysocks

I have to write
To keep myself sane
Bringing pen to paper
Helps to relieve the pain

Ive been trying just so hard
Not to end up like you

All those letters you sent me,
I know they were fake.
All those times i forgave you,
I know were a mistake.
All those times you said you were sorry
I know that it was all a lie.
All those times you hit me
Just make me want to die.

All my thoughts are jumbled
I remind myself of you.
And i know i can never be perfekt enough
I fail at everything i do.

I know i cant keep living like this
I beat myself up dont you see
They ask me where my bruises came from
They dont know they were caused by me

And all the times i spent with you
All the times you made me laugh
Now they bring me so much pain
Because you wouldnt take a polygraph.

I dont know who to believe anymore
Wont let anyone near my broken heart
Life has become such a nightmare
With everything falling apart.

I dont forgive you sister
For taking pleasure in my misery.
And i dont believe you sister
When you say that your sorry.

Im protecting my heart
Everything i say is cold as ice
Because i know i'll just get hurt again
If i try to be nice.

Youve just left me here
With no place to go
And you arent sorry
Sister,that i do know.
