Dream Catcher

Subconscious thoughts
Or vivid nightmares
Such private thoughts
Or so we’d think
There’s always someone there
Lurking
Waiting for the moment to strike
And rip away your joy
She didn’t know what was to happen
She just needed him
To keep her pain inside
Her lifeless body lay on the floor
A dark shadow crept up
And prepared to strike
She was startled
And then saw
And knew
She bowed before him
And poured her heart out
Dream Catcher
Please don’t take him away
I need him just a little while longer
To keep me here
I know you don’t feel
So I don’t expect you to understand
But please just spare me
And I’ll help you with the others
Such a foolish plea
With such empty promise behind
She lost herself to the Dream Catcher
In hopes her true love would return |
