» Poem: The cry (leave comeback)
The cry (leave comeback)
written by Bloodfilledcinnabuns
11:47 PM 2/22/05
the pain that no one saw
the cry that no one heard
the memories unending
of a single, dying word

when no one was listening
i heard a single cry
that hung above me heavily
just like that single lie

i left my room to answer
but something held me back
a sin of no shape or color
a shape of purest black

relief that came so quietly
i never heard it come
and before i had any time to think
the damage had been done

it never was a question
it never was a thought
that cry just had me searching
for release we all had sought

it was waiting round the corner
for anyone who cared to see
how to escape the pain they felt
it was waiting there for me

after all this time of waiting
for my heart to be found out
i wasn’t disappointed
and i relished in the shout

that freed me from the secret
i’d held so near my heart
and though healing comes ever nearer
that cry tore me apart
