Electing my Executioner

Sheriff tells everyone that everything is fine
A horrible death, bullets were through and throughs
and now I'm wanted for the bloody murder of you.
It's a terrible tragedy
They say "She's guilty"
Give her the death penalty times three
Self defense was my lawyer's excuse
but here I stand more than just accused.
Even I was in denial
Told myself, they'll just rule it suicidal
The judge sstoof before me "What do you plead?"
Taking in a breath "I'm not guilty"
A flash-back of that night
We had gotten into a huge fight
Yelling and screaming that was a scary sight
I thought I was dreaming, I wish I was right.
I pulled out the gun and fired away
Didn't stop until the break of day
when police got there, they said I was in a daze
Holding the gun, with a twisted look on my face.
The judge asked "Have you reached a verdict?"
A jury member with an envelope looked inside of it
He cleared his throat "She's guilty,"
"And now she gets the death penalty"
So I died on that day
Not needles or a firey way
Just realizing I was guilty
Was death enough for me
That was my explanation
Right before my execution
All I heard was cheering
All before my eyes did fade
So now I'm known as the girl
the girl who lost her world
Eyes lost their color
Because of cold blooded murder
To the boy, stuck in my mind
Who I killed, dead in my eyes
He's in heaven, no surprise
And now he gets my last good-bye |
