The candle burns, a lavender scent,
Thy eyes light up with the flickering flame,
The wax drips down and falls, slightly bent,
Thou giveth the candle an eloquent name,
The shadow creeps along the wall,
And moves with the candle's light,
The candle dims, the shadow falls,
Thou loveth the beautiful sight,
The stars, they shine, but the candle glows,
And whispers words in thine ear,
The candle, the shadow, both they know,
That thou hath nothing to fear. |
