» Poem: I Once Loved A Man
I Once Loved A Man
written by nicole_lyndon

I once loved a man
Who was so sweet to me,
He said that he would die
To be with me through eternity.
I once loved a man
Who had forgotten how to smile,
The memories that he kept inside
Were of his pain and trials.
I once loved a man
Who wanted to learn how to live,
So I gave him all my lovin'
That's how he learned to give.
I once loved a man
Who thought he knew it all.
After he learned what love was,
He turned and left me to fall.
I once loved a man
Who was foolish, yes indeed.
By the time he learned how to show his love,
His love had turned to greed.
