» Poem: You're Not So Tough Lying On Your Back
You're Not So Tough Lying On Your Back
written by breakmyheart

You've seen that girl
at your school
in the mall...
wherever.
The one everybody wants.
You know her.
You've been her.

You have been the one
to lick your lips
at the same time you
switch your hips.
You know how its done.

You know how to be sexy
You've done it before.
The way you flip your hair,
in such a way
that the light catches it,
making you look like an angel
for a second.

But believe me, it can be dangerous.
It can take you places you never wanted to be.
The alleyway late at night,
The back seat of a car, windows all fogged up.
Or the worst,
A sleazy motel
with the 'L' blinking and zapping
on the sign outside.

You've never actually had to be in these places
But I can assure you,
It's where you're heading
You'll get there soon enough.
And you'll see that your looks...
are your curse.
