» Poem: Drink and Drive
Drink and Drive
written by brokenxsmile

As he watched her lying there
It was just too much for him to bear
He took her hand and squeezed it tight
Wishing with her he could spend on more night

As he wondered about his future life
He wondered what he'd do without his wife
He leaned over and whispered in her ear
"Goodbye, sweetheart. I love you so much, dear"

They closed her coffin and he stood there still
Her name was Lauren; his name is Bill
And everyone watched as a tear fell down his face
Without her with him, where was his place?

He just couldn't seem to make sense anymore
So he turned around silently and walked out the door
He wished he was the one that died, and she was alive
But he knew it was his fault for letting her drink and drive
